About

Welcome!

My name is Alexis and I am so thankful to the Lord for giving me this opportunity to begin this journey. I am a Christian farm girl who lives in a small country town in rural Queensland. I have been blessed with wonderful parents and three amazing brothers who have taught me so much over the years. I have been homeschooled for nearly all of my schooling years and I have been privileged to live on a small hobby farm for as long as I can remember.

It amazes me how God works. When I was younger, I used to hate going out into the garden. It wasn’t until my Dad gave me a packet of mixed cottage flower seeds that I began to take an interest in the garden as I researched the mysterious and beautiful flowers that were blooming in my small patch.

Since then I have enjoyed growing a number of flower varieties and several vegetables too. The satisfaction of being able to pick your own produce is a joy and the experience of growing it and knowing what’s in your food brings peace of mind.

For a long time now, I have had a desire to create a working, low-maintenance garden that can provide my family with fresh food year-round, leaving us with enough to preserve and share with friends.

As the prices of living skyrocket and life becomes busier, I want to find a way to get the garden to grow, thrive and eventually require little to no maintenance. So after several discussions with my parents, I decided to take a look at permaculture, which later led to the purchase of an online, self-paced permaculture course.

I hope as I learn about the topics within my course and blog about them, that they will be of help and an encouragement.

May it be to His Glory.

Alexis
